Swiss Water Decaf

Light caramel/malty aroma. Medium bodied coffee with sweet and mild milk chocolate character, soft lemon acidity and of course no caffeine. Appley sweetness.

Description
This Decaf is processed using the Swiss Water Method (steam) to get rid of the caffeine. A complicated process where the flavour and caffeine is removed and then filtered before the flavour is put back.
Other methods use Methelene chloride (paint stripper) Ethyl acetate or Carbon Tetrachloride (dry cleaning fluid). Best to avoid them!

Spicy, gingery aroma with more than a hint of fruit. The coffee is rich and full with dark cocoa and apricot flavours and a medium bright but earthy body.

Ethiopia where coffee was discovered aprox 1200-1500 years ago is still one of the world’s best coffees. Generally dry processed because of a lack of water, which can be a great advantage as it produces a unique sweet taste.

Description
The Dutch brought coffee to Sumatra in the 1600’s after stealing it from Yemen. Sumartan coffee is famous for its body. Lovely deep, thick, sticky, wonderful body.
It always makes me think of the bass track in music. Nothing sharp or acidic just lovely pounding beat.

From a co-op high up in the Andes comes this fantastic coffee. The quality of the coffee has improved dramatically since small holders formed the co-op, became fairtrade certified and worked together to improve quality as well as their own lives.

Flavour notes: Fruity and sweet aroma. Coffee is medium bodied with distinct berry fruit flavours -a touch of plum. The acidity is bright and clear, but not overpowering, very well balanced, lively and satisfying coffee.

This amazing coffee is from an all woman’s co-op in Guatemala. These women do a wonderful job with this coffee. You can taste the love, nurturing and care they instil in the beans.

Flavour notes: Rich, resinous, complex aroma. Very full bodied coffee, with well-rounded fruity acidity. Fine tobacco and cedar flavours, complimented by an almost blackcurrant note. Long, lingering cocoa aftertaste.
